Scope

The Swedish Runic bibliography is a specialist bibliography covering all research associated with runic inscriptions from the current Swedish area.

Geographically it also includes literature on runic inscriptions found in Finland, the Baltic, Russia, the Ukraine and the medieval Byzantine Empire. In general only such literature as is of principle interest is included, e.g. if it deals with the origin of runes or if the work is a standard edition of the runic inscriptions of an area.

Chronologically the bibliography covers the entire period during which runic inscriptions have been created, that is right from the first centuries AD up to and including contemporary use of runes.

The bibliography excludes media other than the printed word (such as internet resources, audio books, video, illustrations, maps), publications aimed at children and young people including teaching material for primary and secondary schools, fiction, esoterica and usually daily papers.
